Stake
We've been running one of the world's busiest online casinos and sportsbooks since 2017, licensed in Curaçao and open to Canadian players. On Stake you'll find 6,000+ games, 150+ live tables, our own Stake Originals and a sportsbook covering 30+ sports. Deposit in Canadian dollars or crypto, and verify any Originals round yourself. This page walks you through what to pick and why.
Is Stake a good fit for you?
Rather than tell you we're right for everyone, here's an honest read on who gets the most out of the platform.
You'll likely get on well here if you want a single account covering casino and sport, you're comfortable with crypto or happy to use a card through our payment partner, and you like the idea of checking game results yourself rather than taking them on trust. Our value builds through rakeback and a rotating promotions calendar, so the platform rewards steady play more than a one-off signup.
You might find us less suited if you're specifically looking for a large fixed welcome package advertised as a headline figure – our welcome offer runs on a redemption code and varies, so we won't quote a number we can't stand behind. Everything below is laid out so you can decide for yourself.

Choosing how to pay: Canadian dollars or crypto
This is the first real decision you'll make, and there isn't a single right answer. Both work; they suit different habits.
| Canadian dollars | Cryptocurrency | |
|---|---|---|
| How you pay | Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay via our payment partner | Send from your own wallet or buy in-flow |
| Deposit speed | Near-instant once approved | Near-instant after network confirmations |
| Withdrawal speed | Up to 3 business days | Processed instantly by us, then network time |
| Costs | Processor fee, proportionally heavier on small amounts | Blockchain network fee, varies with congestion |
| Setup needed | None beyond your usual card | A wallet, or buying through our on-ramp partners |
| Best for | Getting started quickly without new tools | Frequent play and the fastest withdrawals |
A practical note on cost. Because the card route carries a processor fee, a small deposit loses proportionally more to it than a larger one – so if you're using cards, depositing less often in slightly larger amounts is more efficient than topping up constantly. On the crypto side, network fees move with congestion, which matters most if you're withdrawing an amount close to a coin's minimum. Faster, cheaper chains like Solana or Tron avoid most of that.
You don't have to commit to one. Many players start with a card while they get comfortable, then move to crypto once withdrawal speed starts to matter. Our Swap Crypto feature also lets you switch between coins inside your wallet without sending funds off-platform.
Withdrawal minimums and fees
Here are the current minimums and network fees on the coins we're asked about most. The fee goes to the blockchain, not to us – we don't add a charge on top.
| Coin | Minimum withdrawal | Network fee |
|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin (BTC) | 0.00002504 | 0.00001571 |
| Ethereum (ETH) | 0.00062610 | 0.00067447 |
| Litecoin (LTC) | 0.01857329 | 0.00013800 |
| USDT (Tether) | 2.50000000 | 1.00000000 |
| Dogecoin (DOGE) | 5.49925970 | 0.52151198 |
| EOS | 1.87644594 | 0.10788480 |
| Tron (TRX) | 7.82408913 | 0.07336170 |
There's no fixed maximum on crypto withdrawals. Between sessions you can park funds in the Stake Vault, which sits behind a second authentication step and moves money in and out without fees or delays. We recommend it if you keep a working balance on the site rather than withdrawing after every session.
Popular games at Stake
A snapshot of what's busiest right now across our main categories.
Picking a game category
Six thousand games is a lot to face on day one. Rather than list them all, here's how the categories actually differ in feel, so you can start where it suits you.
| If you want… | Try | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|
| A long, low-attention session | Slots | Self-paced, wide stake range, autoplay and demo mode available |
| Quick rounds in short bursts | Stake Originals and burst games | Rounds resolve in seconds and you control when to cash out |
| Atmosphere and a real dealer | Live casino | Streamed tables with croupiers, chat and game-show formats |
| Decisions that affect the outcome | Blackjack, video poker, Stake Poker | Strategy influences results more than in pure-chance games |
| To learn a game before spending | Demo mode and Fun Play | Full gameplay with no funds staked and no real winnings |
| Something you can verify yourself | Stake Originals | Every round is provably fair and independently checkable |
Slots
The biggest part of our library, spanning wild animal, horror, gem, fruit and candy themes. Sweet Bonanza 2500, Gates of Olympus 1000 and Sugar Rush 1000 are among the most played. Mechanics matter more than theme: Megaways changes the symbol count each spin, cascading reels drop new symbols into winning positions, cluster pays reward groups instead of lines, and bonus buy lets you pay a set multiple of your stake to jump straight into a feature. Some titles come in enhanced RTP versions that return more over the long run than the standard release.
Live casino
More than 150 tables from Evolution, Pragmatic Play Live and Animo Studios run around the clock. Beyond blackjack, roulette and baccarat you'll find Dragon Tiger, Sic Bo and Live Monopoly, plus presenter-led formats such as Crazy Time and Lightning Roulette where multipliers land on selected outcomes.
Stake Originals and burst games
Crash, Mines, Plinko, Limbo and Dice are ours, built in house and playable nowhere else. Burst games extend the same idea with video-game mechanics on our Stake Engine – Keno, Pragmatic Plinko+, Aviamasters and Drop the Boss among them. Rounds are short and the maths is visible rather than buried behind reels. You can try any of them free with Fun Play first.
Table games and poker
RNG blackjack, roulette, baccarat, video poker, Hilo and Diamonds for solo play at your own pace. Stake Poker and Poker Live by Evolution cover the card side, with buy-in, freeroll and sit-and-go tournaments alongside regular cash games.
Only on Stake
External studios build these on our Stake Engine and release them here first – Sweet Fiesta 1000 from Pragmatic Play, Wild Orbs from Titan Gaming and Wild West Bonanza from BGaming are good entry points. Many arrive in early access before appearing anywhere else.
Studios we work with
Checking a game result yourself
Provably fair is the part of the platform we'd most like you to actually use, because it turns trust into something you can test. It covers every Stake Originals title.
Three values produce each result. A server seed we generate and show you as a hash before you play, so it's locked in but not yet readable. A client seed that belongs to your browser and that you can change whenever you like. And a nonce, a counter that ticks up with every bet.
To check a round you've already played, rotate your seed pair in the game's fairness settings. That reveals the old server seed in full, and you can confirm it matches the hash you were shown earlier – proof we didn't swap it after your bet. Feed the seed pair and nonce into the verification tool and it reproduces the exact result you saw. Outcomes are also mirrored on a third-party site and stored using cryptographic hashing.
Worth being clear on the limits: this applies to our Originals. Live dealer games are decided by physical equipment under studio supervision, and third-party slots run on their provider's own certified random number generator.
Sports betting at Stake
We take over 100,000 bets a day across 30+ sports, with odds shown in decimal, fractional or American format – switch whenever you like. Coverage that matters most to Canadian bettors:
- Ice hockey with full NHL markets
- Basketball including the NBA and the Toronto Raptors
- Baseball including MLB and the Toronto Blue Jays
- Soccer across MLS, the Premier League and the Champions League
- Tennis, Formula 1, UFC, boxing and horse racing
- Esports including CS2, Dota 2, League of Legends and Valorant
Bet types, briefly
Moneyline and match winner are a single pick on who wins; 1X2 adds the draw. Totals ask whether the combined score finishes over or under a line. Handicaps apply a points adjustment to even out a mismatch. Parlays combine selections for bigger odds but need every leg to land, and same-game multis do the same within one fixture. Player props and correct-score markets cover individual performances and exact results.
Live betting
In-play odds move as the match does, and you can cash out selected bets early at a value reflecting the current state of play. Free live streaming runs on selected events, and Stake Shield can return a payout on eligible parlays that lose by a single leg. When nothing's live, Simulated Reality Leagues keep markets open.
Getting started
Signing up takes a couple of minutes and doesn't need documents up front.
Registering
- Select Register on Stake.com.
- Enter a valid email address and pick a username.
- Set a strong password – a password manager is worth using here.
- Enter your date of birth and confirm you meet the legal gambling age in your province.
- Accept our Terms of Service and Responsible Gambling policy.
- Add a redemption code if you have one, within 24 hours of signing up.
- Confirm your email to activate the account.
Signing in and locking the account down
After that, sign in with your username and password or a passkey. Before you deposit anything, turn on two-factor authentication in your profile – it's the single most effective thing you can do to protect the account, and it takes about a minute. If you lose your password, the recovery link on the sign-in screen sends a reset email.
Depositing and withdrawing
Both run from the Wallet. To deposit, pick Canadian dollars and complete the partner checkout, or choose a coin, copy the address and send from your wallet – always confirming the network matches. To withdraw, open Account, then Wallet, then Withdraw, choose your method, paste the destination address and check it carefully, then enter an amount that meets the coin's minimum and confirm.
We may ask you to verify your identity before a first substantial withdrawal or during an account review – a photo ID and a proof of address from the last 90 days. It's an anti-money-laundering requirement attached to our licence rather than an obstacle we've invented, and having the documents ready avoids a wait at the worst possible moment.
Bonuses and how our rewards actually work
Our promotions run on a rolling calendar instead of one big signup package. Terms differ per offer, so check the Promotions page before opting in.
Welcome offer
Activated with a redemption code entered in your profile within 24 hours of registering. What it's worth, the wagering attached and any qualifying deposit all depend on the code live at the time – which is exactly why we don't print a figure here that might not be the one you get.
Rakeback
The most reliable value on the platform. Rakeback returns a slice of every bet you place, win or lose, worked out per bet from the house edge of the game you're playing and credited to your balance. It starts at our first VIP tier and the rate climbs with each level. Because it's tied to volume rather than outcomes, it's the one reward you can count on regardless of how a session goes.
Daily Races
A prize pool shared out every 24 hours by leaderboard position, based on wagering across eligible games.
Weekly Raffle
Tickets are earned in proportion to qualifying wagers, with a pool drawn weekly. More tickets improve your odds in the draw without guaranteeing anything.
Reload bonuses
These unlock at the higher VIP tiers and recur on a schedule, calculated from your recent activity. They sit on top of rakeback rather than replacing it.
Sports promotions
Separate offers for the sportsbook, including early payout on selected soccer markets, refunds on selected UFC and horse racing outcomes, and Stake Shield protection on eligible parlays.
The VIP Club, and whether it's worth chasing
You're in the VIP Club from the moment you register – no application, no opt-in. Progress tracks cumulative wagering, not deposits or losses, and sports bets count three times what casino bets do, so a sports-led player climbs considerably faster on the same turnover.
| Tier | Wagered (USD equivalent) | What it unlocks |
|---|---|---|
| Bronze | $10,000 | Rakeback starts, weekly boost, VIP group access |
| Silver | $50,000 | Higher rakeback rate, bigger weekly boost |
| Gold | $100,000 | Monthly bonus on top of the weekly boost |
| Platinum I–III | $250,000 – $1,000,000 | Daily reloads, scaling boosts |
| Platinum IV–VI | $2,500,000 – $10,000,000 | Dedicated VIP host, renewable reloads |
| Diamond I–V | $25,000,000 – $500,000,000 | Bespoke rewards, exclusive events |
| Obsidian | $1,000,000,000 | Top tier, fully tailored terms |
Here's the honest framing. Bronze is a realistic target through ordinary play, and it's the tier that matters most because it switches rakeback on – everything after that is a better rate on the same mechanism. The upper tiers reflect volumes only a small minority of players will ever reach, and we'd rather you treat them as a ceiling that exists than a target to chase. Play the amount you were going to play anyway and let the tier follow.
Rewards land automatically or arrive with codes in the VIP channel, and the weekly boost goes out each Saturday.
Payment methods
Mobile: app or browser
Both options share one account, one balance and the same VIP progress, so this is purely about preference.
| Native app | Browser web app | |
|---|---|---|
| Install | From the App Store or Google Play | Add to Home Screen from your browser |
| Storage used | Around 52 MB | Effectively none |
| Devices | iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Vision, Android | Any modern mobile browser |
| Updates | Through the app store | Always current, nothing to update |
| Features | Full casino, sportsbook, wallet, streaming | Full casino, sportsbook, wallet, streaming |
Our native app, Stake: Real Money Casino, is rated 4.6 out of 5 from more than 6,800 ratings on the Apple App Store, at roughly 52 MB. Search for it by name, install, and sign in with your existing details. If you'd rather not install anything, open Stake.com in your browser and choose Add to Home Screen – the icon launches the full site in full-screen mode, and deposits, withdrawals, live streaming and in-play betting all behave the same way.
Licensing, security and your data
Stake is owned and operated by Medium Rare N.V. under Curaçao Gaming Authority licence OGL/2024/1451/0918. That covers fair play standards, keeping player funds separate from operating funds, anti-money-laundering duties and a route to dispute resolution. We're also a Crypto Gambling Foundation verified operator, which adds independent oversight on the crypto side.
We use industry-standard encryption, support passkeys and two-factor authentication on account access, and offer the Stake Vault so a working balance and your longer-term funds aren't sitting behind the same single login. Personal data is handled under our published privacy policy.
Staying in control
Gambling should be entertainment paid for out of money you can afford to lose. If it stops feeling that way, the tools below are in your account settings and take effect immediately.
- Deposit limits – cap what you can add over a chosen period
- Loss limits – cap net losses over a chosen period
- Wager limits – cap the total you can stake
- Cooling-off – suspend access for a short, fixed window
- Break in play – step away briefly without closing anything
- Self-exclusion – close access for a longer term
Setting a deposit limit when you're calm is far easier than deciding to stop mid-session, so we'd suggest doing it early rather than waiting until you feel you need to. Our Stake Smart resources cover the warning signs, and a monthly budget calculator helps turn disposable income into a realistic figure. Support can close an account or apply self-exclusion whenever you ask.
If gambling has stopped being fun, free and confidential help is available through provincial problem gambling helplines across Canada, and organisations such as GamCare and GambleAware offer support at no cost.
Getting help
Support is open 24/7, every day of the year, through three routes.
- Live chat from the widget on any page – fastest for account, payment and game questions
- Email at [email protected] – better when you need to attach something, such as verification documents
- The Help Centre – self-service articles on setup, payments, bonuses, fairness and sportsbook rules
We operate in 15 languages, and Canadian players can get help in English or French. From Platinum IV, a dedicated VIP host becomes your direct contact for bonuses, promotions and payments.
What our players say
The category breakdown matches my experience – I bounce between slots for long evenings and Mines when I've got ten minutes. Having both plus the sportsbook on one balance is the thing that stopped me using three different sites.
Started on card deposits because I had no crypto at all, moved to USDT after a couple of months purely for the withdrawal speed. Both worked, but the difference on cashing out is night and day. Glad the option to start simple was there.
Hockey markets are deep and the free streams cover most nights, which is the main reason I'm here. The stream sits a few seconds behind live play though, so I've stopped betting on fast sequences in-play. Cash-out is quick and has saved me twice.
Questions we get asked
Should I deposit at Stake in Canadian dollars or crypto?
Both work. Canadian dollars via card, Apple Pay or Google Pay is the simplest start and needs no new tools, but withdrawals take up to 3 business days and the processor fee weighs more on small amounts. Crypto is faster on withdrawals and usually cheaper, especially on low-fee networks. Many players start with a card and switch later.
Is Stake licensed and open to players from Canada?
Yes. Stake is operated by Medium Rare N.V. under Curaçao Gaming Authority licence OGL/2024/1451/0918 and accepts Canadian players, who can fund accounts in Canadian dollars or crypto. You remain responsible for checking the gambling rules in your province.
How does the Stake welcome offer work?
It runs on a redemption code entered in your profile within 24 hours of registering. What the offer is worth, its wagering requirement and any qualifying deposit depend on the code that's active at the time, so check the current terms on the Promotions page before opting in.
What exactly is rakeback and when does it start at Stake?
Rakeback returns a percentage of every bet you place, win or lose, calculated per bet from the house edge of the game. It switches on at Bronze, reached after $10,000 of cumulative casino wagering, and the rate rises at each higher VIP tier. It's the most predictable ongoing return on the platform.
How long do withdrawals take at Stake?
Crypto withdrawals are processed instantly on our side, with arrival then depending on network confirmations – often minutes on faster chains. Canadian dollar withdrawals can take up to 3 business days. If nothing has moved after 3 business days, contact support and they'll trace it.
Will Stake ask me to verify my identity?
Not to start playing. Verification may be requested before a first substantial withdrawal or during an account review, as required by the anti-money-laundering obligations attached to our licence. A clear government-issued photo ID and a proof of address from the last 90 days are the usual documents.
How do I check that a Stake Originals round was fair?
Each result comes from a server seed, a client seed and a nonce. The server seed is shown as a hash before you play and revealed in full when you rotate your seed pair, so you can confirm it matches that earlier hash. Entering the seeds and nonce into the verification tool reproduces the same result.
Which games should I start with at Stake?
If you want long self-paced sessions, slots suit best. For short bursts, try Stake Originals like Mines or Plinko. For atmosphere, the live dealer tables. If you prefer decisions affecting the outcome, blackjack, video poker or Stake Poker. Demo mode and Fun Play let you learn any of them without staking funds.
Is it worth chasing the Stake VIP tiers?
Bronze is the tier that matters most, since it turns rakeback on, and it's reachable through ordinary play. Higher tiers improve the rate but require very large cumulative wagering. Our advice is to play the amount you intended to anyway and let the tier follow rather than wagering to reach a level.
Does Stake have an app, or can I play in a browser?
Both. The native app is on the Apple App Store, rated 4.6 from 6,800+ ratings at around 52 MB, supporting iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision, plus an Android version on Google Play. You can also add Stake.com to your home screen from any mobile browser. Features and your account are identical either way.
What sports can I bet on at Stake?
30+ sports, including NHL ice hockey, NBA basketball with the Raptors, MLB baseball with the Blue Jays, soccer across MLS and the major European leagues, tennis, Formula 1, UFC, boxing and horse racing, plus esports on CS2, Dota 2, League of Legends and Valorant. Free live streaming runs on selected events.
What can I do at Stake if gambling stops feeling fun?
Deposit, loss and wager limits, cooling-off periods, break in play and self-exclusion are all in your account settings and apply immediately. Support can close an account or apply self-exclusion on request. Free confidential help is also available through provincial helplines in Canada and organisations such as GamCare and GambleAware.
